Beer is a small picturesque village with a long and rich history of fishing and smuggling. The village is in a sheltered cove with high cliffs making it an ideal place for smugglers to bring their contraband in. Fishing is still a major income for the village, boats are winced up the beach as there is no harbour and fresh locally caught fish can be brought in the shops.
