Cycling in Devon is a joy with an abundance of cycle trails from the urban routes to the breathtaking scenery of the wild moorland, from the traffic free coastal trails to the more energetic hills and muddy paths when mountain biking.
There are over 150 miles of the National Cycle Network in Devon with a selection of short and circular routes ideal for all the family. You can cycle the 100 mile Devon Coast to Coast route from Ilfracombe in the north down to Plymouth in the South; there are three main traffic-free trails on this route The Tarka Trail, The Granite Way and the Plym Valley Trail.
There are a variety of different graded mountain bike trails on offer for all the family at Haldon Forest Park as well as great trails on Dartmoor, Exmoor and the Blackdown Hills.

Devon has two coastlines which provide the opportunity for great sea fishing trips whether you charter a boat or cast from the beach your catch will be bountiful. There are dozens of lakes and well stocked fisheries for the course angler and superb fly fishing on Devon's many Rivers.

From links golf courses to courses on the edge of the National Parks they are all located in wonderfully scenic surroundings. The Royal North Devon Golf Club at Westward Ho! Was founded in 1864 and is the oldest golf course in the country.
Watersports in Devon
There is a fantastic selection of water sports across Devon from surfing, windsurfing and kite-surfing on the two coastlines, white water rafting and canoeing on the rivers to sailing and water skiing on the lakes. You can take professionally organized dive trips to explore the marine life of the coastal waters at your leisure as well as snorkeling in the shallower waters. There are several schools where you can learn all available watersports and at all levels including sailing, boating, waterskiing, surfing and diving.
